Practise yoga with me on the stunning West coast of Sicily. Salinara is an elegant and stylish 18th century farm, situated close to the beautiful Baroque town of Marsala, and located just 15 minutes from Trapani airport and one hour from Palermo. The farm is immersed in nature, surrounded by ancient salt pans, windmills, vineyards and olive groves. It is within walking distance of the Mediterranean sea. From Salinara you can explore the pretty coastal towns of Marsala and Trapani, taste the local wines, ride the cable car up to the medieval town of Erice and sail to the stunning Egadi islands. Or, simply enjoy il dolce far niente, the sweetness of doing nothing - relaxing on your private terrace or chilling in a hammock in the pretty gardens. Full of extraordinary charm and natural beauty, Salinara is a perfect retreat hideaway where both body and soul can regenerate. Suitable for all levels except absolute beginners.

eat fresh, healthy, delicious farm-to-table food

Salinara is passionate about authentic, delicious food. Most of the produce used by the chef comes from the farm itself or another nearby farm. Even the extra virgin olive oil comes from the trees in front of the farm, and all the wine is from the surrounding vineyards. This use of local products supports the local economy and protects the environment by reducing the supply chain. All food on the retreat is vegetarian. Brunch is served after morning yoga and dinner after evening yoga. Fruit is available before the morning practice.

Our morning sessions are 120 minutes of soulful Vinyasa flow and conscious breathing. These sessions are mixed level, with options, and are thoughtfully sequenced to invigorate you.

We switch gears for our 90 minute evening sessions with a much slower, stiller vibe, combining gentle yoga, somatics, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation) designed to soothe and nourish you.

All studios and suites have air conditioning, purified drinking water in glass bottles, a selection of teas, WiFi, super comfy beds with fine cotton bed linen, hairdryers and fresh flowers from the garden. You will find cotton towels and soap in the bathroom. Nearly all the rooms have private balconies, terraces or patios.

Enter this elegant ground floor studio through a small private garden of lemon and orange trees. Acquasanta has Twin Beds, garden view, its own large private patio space with table and chairs and sun lounger, along with a kitchenette and shower room. The floor is made of 18th century maiolica tiles.

This charming studio is on the first floor with shower room and kitchenette. The bedroom (King Size bed or Twin beds) window looks over the Perrcione vineyard and towards Mount Erice. The private terrace has a table, chairs and deckchairs, where you can enjoy a glass of wine and the sunset sea view.

This gorgeous, very spacious split level suite is in the traditional Sicilian style. It is located on the ground floor with a private with patio with table, chairs and deckchairs. The living-dining area and kitchenette - with a patchwork of antique tiles - is on the ground floor. Some ladder steps lead from the living-dining area to the first floor bedroom with King Size bed or Twin beds. The bedroom has a sea view and en-suite shower room.

This beautiful two bedroom suite is on the ground floor and has a communal area with kitchen/dining area. The two en-suite bedrooms with King Size beds are on either side of the communal space and are covered with handmade tiles on the floor, with original doors and rustic wardrobes. Views from the bedrooms are towards Mount Erice.

One of the most relaxing areas of the farmhouse is undoubtedly the luxuriant garden with pergola where you can enjoy the sunset.

Isola di Levanzo - Isola di Favignana - Trapani - Marsala - Erice

Salinara is located next to Marsala, a beautiful town with stunning main square. In this region you can sample different varieties of wine, including the world famous Marsala wine! Also close by is the lovely coastal town of Trapani with its Baroque Centro Storico, great cafes and shops. Walk along the promenade or take a dip in the sea! From Trapani you can ride the cable car to the medieval village of Erice, meander through the narrow streets and admire the stunning view. Just off the West Coast are the amazing Egadi islands of Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo - a must visit while you are here.

getting there

There are very cheap flights with RyanAir from London Stansted to Trapani (Birgi) airport which located is 15 minutes drive/taxi/transfer away from Salinara.

BA flies from London Heathrow to Palermo, which is an hours drive/taxi/bus/transfer away from Salinara.
